Changes Ahead - Sage Introduces Subscription Pricing


Effective April 2nd, 2012 you will now be able to pay for your Sage ERP software as a subscription. This means that you will be able to receive all of the benefits of an advanced ERP system without the initial high entry cost, which often deters companies from making the investment.

Sage is now setting the starting price at $1,495 for the Sage 100 ERP suite (formerly known as Sage MAS 90 and 200), $1,695 for Sage 300 (formerly Sage Accpac) and $2,595 for Sage 500 (formerly Sage MAS 500).

Joe Langner, VP of Mid market and CRM solutions said the new subscription pricing will help "transform Sage from being a software product company… to being a solutions provider for the midmarket customer."

Under the subscription plan customers will pay $110 per user/per month for the Sage 100 ERP suite, $130 per user/per month for Sage 300 and $160 per user/per month for Sage 500. Sage CRM can be added to each for $35 per user/per month.

Subscribers will have full access to the same premium product functionality that customers get with the traditional perpetual license, Langner said, as well as the Sage Business Care Gold Plan support. The subscription also includes access to ERP financial and operational reporting tools and the Sage Fixed Assets application.

The subscription is being offered with no minimum term requirements and the right to cancel a subscription with 120 days notice. Sage will continue to offer the traditional perpetual license option for the applications.

Sage Rolls out Rebranding Strategy


Sage SoftwareWe are coming to you today with more news on the Sage Rebranding strategy which will begin rolling out over the next 18months. We will ensure that all of our customers are well informed of the branding changes and will strive to eliminate any confusion it may generate. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly.

‘A Corporate brand will be most effective when it stands for something meaningful to the customer’, David Aaker, Brand Portfolio Strategy. This is the driving force behind the Sage rebranding strategy. The goal is to build the Sage brand as a strong and trusted brand in order to increase the value proposition of how Sage can support the needs of small and medium businesses.

Over the years, Sage users began to recognize their products as brands within the brand. Products like ‘Accpac’, ‘Simply’, and ‘Timberline’ were considered brands in themselves. In order to create a stronger brand for Sage which is recognized globally, it was decided to remove these sub-brands and replace them with a similar branding strategy to the one used in Europe.

In this approach, most products are grouped into families unified by a number, such as Sage 50 Accounting and Sage 50 Construction. Product names like Accpac, Timberline, or Simply Accounting are dropped to facilitate customer identification with the larger Sage brand. Specifically to the products that Plus carries, ‘Sage 300 – formerly known as Sage ERP Accpac’ is what you will be seeing as the strategy begins to roll out. Sage ERP Accpac 100, 200 and 500 will become Sage 300 Standard, Advanced and Premium, respectively. Some of the non-core products like Sage CRM will not change. Sage FAS Fixed Assets and Sage Abra HRMS will shorten to become Sage FAS and Sage HRMS, respectively.

We understand that this may be a confusing or frustrating change for some of you so please express any concerns you have with one of us here at Plus. We will be happy to speak with you to clear any uncertainties. We hope that this transition will lead to a stronger relationship between Sage, its Business Partners and our customers.
