T4 Filing 2011Is generating T4s making you want to pop a few T3s? Are you finding electronic filing tougher than a $2 steak? This doesn’t have to be a difficult process as Accpac’s Payroll module allows you to quickly and easily produce and transmit these forms to the CRA. Recently, Sage Software announced a few changes made to the T4s for this year, and they are:

  • Retiring allowances are now reported directly on the T4 form, and not on the T4A form. Note: These taxes must be determined manually
  • Additional options are now available in the drop-down list of Earnings
  • The following reports have been updated (the following changes only affect users who have customized their T4 reports):
    • CTT4BLK1.RPT has been merged into CTT4BLK2.RPT
    • CTT4BLK3.RPT has been merged into CTT4BLK2.RPT (This report now includes the T4 paper reports for employee, employer, and CRA)
    • CTT4PD.RPT has been merged into CTT4PDL2.RPT (This report now includes the T4 paper reports for employee, employer, and CRA)
    • The T4 forms (plain paper & laser) have been updated to the new layout for tax year 2010

If you are having a tough time with T4s, I highly recommend that you review a previous blog post, from Bonnie Wittmeier, our resident Accpac guru, which is available here: http://www.plus.ca/blog/bid/30540/Sage-Accpac-ERP-T4-s-Electronic-Filing Please contact us today, should you need any assistance.
