I Know a Shortcut!

When Accpac first made the jump from DOS to Windows, people would always complain to me that in Accpac Plus, they could get around without having to rely on the mouse. (Well, with Accpac Plus, you really didn't have much choice.) For companies with a high volume of transactions, switching between the mouse and the keyboard frequently, could really start to add time to data entry.
Well, I have good news for those who long to be less reliant on their mouse-like peripheral devices. You CAN get around most Accpac screens with just your keyboard.
Check out some of the keyboard shortcuts that Accpac offers. (This may be review for some, but it bears repeating.)

Zoom button. |
Some of the above shortcuts, you may have noticed, are standard Windows conventions. Others are exclusive to Accpac.
Another shortcut I should point out, which is pretty much standard for all Windows applications, is that most buttons, tabs and menu items can be accessed by using a combination of Alt + a letter corresponding to the button, tab or menu item. If you press the Alt key by itself, the available "Alt" shortcuts will display themselves by underlining the corresponding letter. For example, if you press Alt when a Save button is visible, it will underline the Alt Shortcut like so: "Save".
Lastly, I'll remind you that when you tab to a button (meaning the button is highlighted) you can actually press this button with the Enter key or the Space Bar, not just with a click of the mouse.
Even if most of this is review, I hope there is at least one shortcut you didn't know about before - and may save you time in the future. Happy keying!
