New Years resolution for your accounting software data

I have had discussions recently with some of our onsite and telephone support consultants and they are telling me that many of our clients do not run regular Data Integrity checks and backups.
I can not emphasize how important it is to perform regular Data Integrity checks. Your accounting data is typically your most critical data. If this data is not in integrity how much value does this data have. Some might say it is worthless. Data Integrity Checks (DICs) should be performed everyday if possible. If the data is so large that time does not permit this, perform smaller checks each day. Check one module per day for example. Alternatively there are unattended DIC tools available. These tools allow the DIC to be performed in the evening while no one is using the system and the log files can be emailed and waiting in your inbox first thing in the morning. Please contact us for more information.
If you do not pefrom DIC's please backup your data frequently. Backing up data that does not have integrity is pretty useless but it affords more options than no backup at all. We reccomend that backups are performed on your accounting data at least once a day. Your hardware network professionals can reccomend all sorts of backup solutions that can run in the evening, save your data off site, and more. Please contact us if you would like more information on companies that can provide backup solutions.
Make it your New Years resolution to back up and check the integrity of your data.
